What Does Jesus Want for Christmas?
START VIEWING 33:22
"Everything comes into existence because of the existence of Jesus. Jesus is perfect theology."
Phillip Fields teaches from the book of John starting in chapter 1. Unlike the authors before the book of John, John is telling the story of Jesus' life, but He starts out by reminding us that Jesus is God.
He didn't start where you and I started. He had an existence before the world exists.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:1-5)
Who was the Word? What does that mean?
Logos in Greek means the principle upon which everything else is built.
We live in a world where truth is distorted. We tend to interrupt the Word with our ability to conceive and understand things, but John says the Word was conceived by God and it was brought into Earth in the form of a man and ALL truth is measured by HIM.
Jesus is the center.
Everything comes into existence because of the existence of Jesus.
Jesus is perfect theology.
